I am so sorry to hear of your loss, Ali, but so thankful for the testimony of the love of the body of Christ. Thank you for sharing. May the Lord hold you as you remember.

Excellent example of the Body of Christ in action as designed. Creative, steadfast, present — even through distance.

Wow. I am so very sorry to read of your loss yet so very glad to read of your experience with your church. Indeed as Christ intended her to be. Believers walking together not just through short-term crisis but long-term grief. Reading this refreshed my soul and faith in His bride. Thank you for writing it.

Having gone through similar losses, I have found it is the body of Christ that shows up when we need them most-the very nature of Agape love. I feel your loss and pray God is healing your broken hearts.

Thank you for sharing Ali. Devastating and beautiful piece. I am so thankful for your Church. I imagine Christ smiles when his body literally nourishes and sustains his people, particularly in our deepest times of suffering.

I would think the same. Thank you for reading, brother.

God really does walk with us throng the Valley of the Shadow of Death, often through His Church. I’m glad they were there for you

Thank you our family lost my husband and their daddy Your story was so encouraging and exactly what family and church are intended to be and they have been so compromised and so I can't even come up with the right words this morning but dysfunctional I guess maybe the word I want, it's overused perhaps but still true of what's happened in so much of society. This story of the church and of your family was exactly I believe what got intended it to be. Having support from a church family and our own family standing together through grief is more rare than it ought to be.
